On the Path to Success, Izzy Sotelo Is Learning and Leading

At the Courreges Elementary World Cup of Summer, Izzy Sotelo worked with dedication and drive to produce serious results. She showed that leadership can begin and grow under a single idea. Under the guidance of teachers, staff, and the Infinnovate team, Izzy was able to demonstrate leadership, creativity, and the willingness to think differently.

IZZY SOTELO: My name is Izzy and I'm 11 years old. I'm going into sixth grade and I believe in donuts and music.

INFINNOVATE: What was your favorite World Cup of Summer experience?

IZZY SOTELO: My favorite part was either when I did the speaking for our business or when I got to eat the donuts.

INFINNOVATE: What are you most proud of over the past few weeks?

IZZY SOTELO: I’m most proud of how I’ve grown as a public speaker, and how I learned how to even have confidence […] .

INFINNOVATE: How did the program help you become more confident?

IZZY SOTELO: I was confident [presenting] in front of parents, but in front of my own class, it’s like, if I mess something up, I could get embarrassed or teased- I see them every day […] But infinnovate helped me get over that.

INFINNOVATE: What would you tell a student who joins an INFINNOVATE program in the future?

IZZY SOTELO: That it's really fun and that they shouldn't be like me, [who] said, no, why are we still kids? I don't wanna do business. And they should give it a chance because it's actually really fun.
